We’re excited to kick off another year of hands-on learning at the YMCA Test Kitchen! This fall, students can choose from three unique programs designed to build skills, confidence and curiosity in a fun, interactive environment.

Mondays

Cooking Basics

Beginning September 14

Perfect for students who are just getting started in the kitchen or want to brush up on their skills. Students will learn easy-to-follow recipes, basic cooking techniques, safety and sanitation practices, and participate in interactive technology-based activities. They will also work alongside our chefs to help prepare dinner and have opportunities to volunteer with the YMCA Test Kitchen at community events, fundraisers and more.

Tuesdays

Advanced Cooking

Designed for students who have 1–2 years of YMCA Test Kitchen cooking experience or have developed cooking skills at home or school. Students will explore mid-level to advanced recipes, culinary techniques, knife skills, cooking methods, safety and sanitation while continuing to build confidence in the kitchen. Students will also assist our chefs with dinner preparation and have opportunities to volunteer at community events, fundraisers and more.
