The YMCA Test Kitchen and Test Kitchen STEM Lounge offer comfortable, flexible spaces in downtown Fort Madison for small events, celebrations, meetings, and more.

Whether you are planning a baby shower, bridal shower, wedding rehearsal dinner, family gathering, business meeting, or another special occasion, our spaces offer a warm and welcoming setting for your event.

Both facilities are climate controlled and conveniently located in downtown Fort Madison, with ample seating, great acoustics, and flexible spaces that can be decorated to fit your event.

YMCA Test Kitchen

A convenient space for gatherings of all kinds.

Two restrooms stocked with paper products and hand soap
Large countertop and bar seating
Handwashing sink and larger sink in the bar area

Bluetooth speaker for music from a compatible device

Make Your Event Even Better With YTK Catering

From hors d'oeuvres and multi-course meals to simple dinners and refreshments, our team can work closely with you to create food and beverage options that complement your event.

When you use YTK Catering Service, the $100 facility rental fee is waived. Your cost is based on the per-person pricing selected from the catering menu. A minimum of 20 guests is required.

Facility Rules & Guidelines

We want every event at the YMCA Test Kitchen and STEM Lounge to be a positive experience. As a youth-centered educational nonprofit, we ask all renters and guests to treat our facilities, staff, and other guests with respect.

General guidelines

Respectful conduct is expected at all times. Foul language and unruly behavior are not permitted.
Please leave the space clean and tidy. Clear tables of decorations, food scraps, cups, and debris before leaving. Staff will handle garbage disposal.
Smoking is prohibited inside our facilities and directly in front of them.
Payment is due in full when you depart. Checks should be made payable to YMCA Test Kitchen. Checks and cash are preferred, and debit and credit cards are accepted.

Test Kitchen guidelines

Commercial kitchen cooking equipment and refrigeration are for YMCA Test Kitchen staff only.
YTK technology is off limits except for the provided TVs, Bluetooth speaker, and HDMI connectors.

STEM Lounge guidelines

Music equipment and other equipment behind the curtain divider are off limits to guests.
YTK technology is off limits except for the provided TVs, Bluetooth speaker, and HDMI connectors.
