AQUACISE WITH JAN
The Fort Madison Family YMCA’s Aquacise class is a fun and effective water-based fitness program designed to improve cardiovascular health, strength, flexibility, and overall wellness. Typically held in a shallow pool, Aquacise classes utilize the natural resistance of water to create a low-impact yet high-intensity workout that is accessible to participants of all ages and fitness levels.

Class Features:
- Low Impact: The buoyancy of water supports the body, reducing stress on joints and muscles, making it ideal for individuals with arthritis, joint pain, or those recovering from injury.
- Cardiovascular Focus: The class includes exercises that elevate the heart rate, promoting heart health, improving endurance, and burning calories.
- Strength Training: Water provides natural resistance, helping to build muscle tone and strength throughout the body.
- Full Body Workout: Exercises often target the core, arms, legs, and back to improve overall muscle strength and balance.
- Flexibility & Range of Motion: The water’s resistance also aids in stretching and improving flexibility, reducing the risk of injury.
- Variety: Classes may incorporate a mix of aerobic movements, strength training, and stretching, using equipment like noodles, kickboards, and water friendly dumbbells for added resistance.
- Gentle on the Body: Because water supports the body, participants experience less impact, making it perfect for beginners, seniors, or anyone looking for a gentler alternative to land-based workouts.
Benefits:
