YMCA Test Kitchen Summer Camps
Camps are open for students entering 4th through 8th grades in the fall. All camps are free of charge. A donation of $100 is appreciated to cover the cost of the camp.
HISTORY CAMP
Students will get the opportunity to learn about Fort Madison history including visits to the train depot
and museum, a visit to Sheaffer pen museum, a visit from members of the Old Fort Preservation
Commission and a talk with locals about Fort Madison’s Mexican heritage.
Snacks and/or lunch will be provided.
Camp Dates: June 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th

COOKING CAMP
Students will learn cooking basics through hands on experiences with the assistance of our YTK Staff and volunteers. Through this program students will also get the opportunity to sign up to assist with YTK Dawgz – a mobile hotdog cart business that will serve and sell hot dogs to the Fort Madison community through community events and setup at local businesses and other locations around town.
Snacks and/or lunch will be provided to students at YTK.

Mining for Knowledge Camp
Climax Molybdenum brings the excitement of mining to the YMCA Test Kitchen! Kids will explore how molybdenum is used in everyday life through fun, hands-on activities led by Climax leaders. From science experiments to learning about rocks and metals, this camp makes STEM adventurous and interactive, inspiring the next generation of curious minds.
Snacks and/or lunch will be provided to students at YTK.

YTK Café
A lunch café open to the public, students will get the opportunity to assist in running the café, including
food prep, food running, back of the house and front of the house operations.

Camp 2: July 13th, 14th, 15th & July 16th
Camp 3: July 20th, 21st, 23rd & July 24th
